    Answering texts seems to be the only specific function that I must do with my phone and no other device. Otherwise, practically every other device is better to use than a phone.

    And if you put those time-wasting apps on a tablet that stays at home instead of your phone, you can't accidentally waste your time when being out and about.

    This article is a bit dated (2022), as Apple now has iPhone mirroring if you have a compatible Mac.

    Until they make better smartphones, I highly recommend using a PopSocket. I have the magnetic PopSocket which connects to my phone using the MagSafe-compatible ring built-in to the thin TPU case for my Pixel phone. With it, my phone just sits on my fingers with the PopSocket secured between two of my fingers. No hand pain.
