Ask HN: Recommended Merchant of Record and Affliate Setup

Hello Everyone, long time reader, second time posting a thread. *edit because realized I did one other time.

I am nearing the completion of a product, and realized that usually when I am integrating payment it has been for other people who have figured out what providers they want.

I am wondering what people recommend from experience. I really want to be able to have an affiliate program set up so that I can offer 45% to people who sell, and would love that ability built in so that I have less paper work to deal with

However, I have been seeing a lot of horror stories around that the MoR I was planning to use (as it ticks every box) since acquisition, when I thought it would have increased in trust.

Anyway, I thought this is probably the most trustworthy community to check with for a wide range of experiences and honesty.

My previous SaaS used Stripe and I'm in the same position where I want to switch to MoR. Was going to go with Polar for payments and Dub.co for affiliates.

For MOR, Stripe has its own (recently launched) Managed Payments system: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/managed-payments

Thank you. They were originally my first thought, and the one that was acquired was acquired by them.

I'm the founder, so take this with a grain of salt, but depending on _what_ you're selling, https://moonbase.sh may be an option. We built it for selling software specifically, primarily downloadable/installable software, and was annoyed by the difficulties of onboarding affiliates. So revenue sharing is built in, and handled in any way you see fit. Feel free to book a demo if you think this may be a good fit for you.

Thanks much - I will look into it today, and reach out if it seems like a good fit for my product.
